I started this service because I found myself spending a lot of time trying to thank people who had linked to one of my websites (snipshot.com, bloggingheads.tv). Even though you can see always see referrer traffic to your site with tools like Google Analytics, it can be hard to find the right person to contact or to keep on top of all the referrers as they change.
How it works
Thankback.com finds the best contact address for a given website by using ZoomInfo, Jigsaw and other public directories. Then it sends out a message to the found address, at the same time taking steps to avoid being labeled as spam. Finally, with a bit of luck, someone responsible for the given website reads the message. The world's supply of good karma increases! The recipient is offered the chance to reply to the message to continue the virtuous circle.
